Being field-proven, means that the systems we are selling worldwide have undergone a process of being tested in real-time, and used in operational and combat conditions and improved following feedback about performance.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p align=\"LEFT\"><em><strong><span style=\"font-family: Helvetica; font-size: medium;\">Baruch Reshef, Deputy Director of ELTA Systems Ltd.<\/span><\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p align=\"LEFT\"><span style=\"color: #808080;\">\u201c\u00a0Gaza has become a showroom for the company\u2019s \u2018smart fences\u2019 as customers appreciate that the products are battle-tested\u201d <\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p align=\"LEFT\"><em><strong><span style=\"font-family: Helvetica; font-size: medium;\">Saar Koursh \u2013 former CEO of Magal <\/span><\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p align=\"LEFT\"><span style=\"font-family: Helvetica;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.coalitionofwomen.org\/about-1\/about\/?lang=en\">Coalition of Women for Peac<\/a><\/span><span style=\"color: #000000; font-size: medium;\">e<\/span><\/span> has just published<a href=\"https:\/\/enhamushim.files.wordpress.com\/2018\/06\/report-with-covers1.pdf\"> a report<\/a> about \u201cIsraeli military Industries and the Oppression of the Great March of Return in Gaza\u201d focusing on the<strong> arms developed, used, and essentially advertised by Israel to prospective international clients during the recent massacre of civilians in Gaza.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p align=\"LEFT\"><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Helvetica;\">The report emphasises that the Israeli military operations on Gaza in the past decade have been especially profitable for the country\u2019s military industries. Both private companies and the Israeli government alike use Gaza as an opportunity to test new weapons, technologies and methods to be marketed based on their new operational success.<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p align=\"LEFT\">\u201c<span style=\"color: #000000;\">The Israeli military industry exploits the occupation of Palestine, and specifically the siege on Gaza, as an arena to battle-test, invest in, and innovate military technology to later be marketed to the international community based on their effectiveness on Palestinian Civilians\u201d \u2013 the report reads.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p align=\"LEFT\"><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Helvetica;\">According to the organisation, the Great Return March revealed two newly developing ISF strategies: the increased use of snipers in \u201celiminating threats\u201d and of drones in controlling\u2014and dispersing\u2014crowds. <\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"LEFT\"><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Helvetica;\">Among new weapons tested by Israel are: <\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<p align=\"LEFT\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">a new tear gas drone, \u201cSea of Tears\u201d, designed specifically for use in Gaza, to be used on the protesters as a crowd dispersal tool.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p align=\"LEFT\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">the skunk water drone \u201cShocko\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p align=\"LEFT\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">expanding (dumdum) bullets, a unique type that opens up after penetrating the skin, destroying tissue and internal organs, and causing more severe injuries for faster incapacitation.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p align=\"LEFT\"><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Helvetica;\">The use of drones to attack is a dangerous strategy that can be used in the future against protestors and passerby civilians in Palestine, without any accountability. Today, Israel already sells those drones, for example, to five different armies using them in Afghanistan. However, use in Gaza and in the West Bank are new developments. <\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"LEFT\"><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Helvetica;\">Both skunk water and tear gas have been used by the ISF in the West Bank and East Jerusalem, as well. Intended to push away protestors, both methods have been used in demonstrations; however, they have both also been used as more routine means of population control alongside.<\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"LEFT\"><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Helvetica;\">The report concludes that the Israeli military \u201cmade deliberate choices to kill and permanently injure considerable numbers of Palestinian civilians\u201d, with the crackdown on the march also providing \u201cthe military with a platform to introduce and showcase the use of drones as the strategic choice of the present and future\u201d.<\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"LEFT\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"font-family: Helvetica;\">Through its Horizon 2020 research program\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.eccpalestine.org\/eu-funding-to-israeli-military-companies-and-institutions-trough-horizon2020\/\">the EU has approved more than 200 projects<\/a>\u00a0with Israeli companies, such as Elbit Systems and Israel Aerospace Industries, that are accused of deep complicity in Israel\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/world\/2014\/nov\/05\/israel-accused-war-crimes-gaza--amnesty-international\">war crimes<\/a> and possible <a href=\"http:\/\/jurist.org\/forum\/2014\/08\/marjorie-cohn-israel-crimes.php\">crimes against humanity<\/a>.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"","protected":false},"author":9,"featured_media":5902,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"zakra_page_container_layout":"customizer","zakra_page_sidebar_layout":"customizer","zakra_remove_content_margin":false,"zakra_sidebar":"customizer","zakra_transparent_header":"customizer","zakra_logo":0,"zakra_main_header_style":"default","zakra_menu_item_color":"","zakra_menu_item_hover_color":"","zakra_menu_item_active_color":"","zakra_menu_active_style":"","zakra_page_header":true,"footnotes":""},"categories":[23,24,25,29,92],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-6653","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-english","category-media","category-muut-toimijat","category-uutiset","category-yleinen-fi"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v27.5 -
